My son plays hockey.  That means my son stinks.  No, not at playing hockey, but let’s just say that the ride home from a hockey game or practice, I’m riding with the windows open.  Phew.  It doesn’t matter if he uses the proper hygiene products – it just doesn’t help when he’s really had some physical work out like hockey.

So, when I was offered the opportunity to review a product I’d never heard of – called QwikShower Wipes, I laughed. And accepted. Quickly.

indivpak

Developed by a Maryland dad who also disliked the stinky kids ride that followed sports and school activities, QwikShower wipes are large, moist, single-use disposable washcloths for those occasions when a shower isn’t feasible.  They are packaged individually and are a good size (10′”x12”) for those quicky cleanups.

QwikShower wipes aren’t just for kids, either.

They’re:

Convenient. Each wipe is individually wrapped for portability and to ensure it never dries out. Kids can slip it into a backpack or purse and go!

Effective. With a large 10” x 12” dimension and a resilient cloth-like material, QwikShower Wipes are big and study enough to clean the entire body – also leaving a slight fresh scent behind that’s been tested and well-received by teenagers and their parents.

Green. Environmentally friendly, QwikShower Wipes are non-aerosol and emit zero fluorocarbon emissions unlike popular body sprays.  This also ensures the scent won’t invade the personal space of others or overwhelm a locker room.

Economical. With an affordable price point starting at just 49 cents each coupled with the company’s free shipping policy, QwikShower Wipes have made it easier and more affordable than ever to keep kids clean and body odor-free.

Versatile. QwikShower Wipes are not just for gym class! They’re great for use after sports practices and games, a day at the beach, or an impromptu restaurant outing with the family. Also a stellar solution for adults, the wipes are perfectly suited for boaters, campers and fitness enthusiasts. They are also a must for emergency preparedness kits in the event of water outages.

Fundraising. When partnered with a sponsoring organization, QwikShower Wipes will support local communities throughout the U.S. by contributing 10% of sales to a PTA, booster club or non-profit organization of the buyer’s choice.

Anthony was dubious about opening up the package and using it to clean himself up and make himself LESS STINKY – but hey, you know what?  Kids these days get so busy, these wipes are perfect.  Between activities and responsibilities, and then add in the fun parts of being a teen – ugh.  They need to be clean and smelling good, not “I just played football and I stink!”  LOL

I loved them, and next hockey season, there WILL be some in the hockey bag, that’s for sure!

FYI: I received some QuikShower wipes in order to write this review.  My opinions are all mine.

When I was notified that I’d been accepted to write about Shutterfly’s huge selection of Christmas and holiday selection of cards, calendars, invitations and other related media, I was thrilled.  I’ve always loved sending and receiving holiday cards.  A big part of the fun comes from picking out JUST the right card to send to a pretty wide variety of people.  I send some to family, of course, some to friends, both near and far, and some to clients.   Sometimes, I buy different ones, bit I prefer to use the same one for as many as I can.

Shutterfly makes that easy!

Clicking on Shutterfly’s folded greeting cards button brings me 199 options!  Of course, being a photographer, I LOVE the idea of including my photographs on a holiday card, and Shutterfly makes that super simple.

First, of course, is picking out your photographs.  I can’t help you with that – of course, having tens of thousands of photos on my harddrives makes this step nearly impossible!

Second, choose the layout or card design that you like best, that will show off your photos.  Like I said, they have 199 different options. SURELY, you can pick one, right?  (ok, I know – it’s hard to choose just one!)

Third, select those photos you’ve picked out of your collection – OR you can even log into your Shutterfly account and use any that you’ve got on there.

Upload the photos to their site (or transfer them) – it only takes a few minutes.

Fourth,  just drag your photos into the right places on the card that you’d like them to appear.

Once you’re happy with your photos, you just click on the caption box, sign your cards with your own greeting and you’re done.  It’s so simple and easy.

For me, personally, I never knew Shutterfly had so many choices.  They’ve made the process quick and painless and very affordable too!   They start at just $1.19 each, and are full-sized cards.  They can ship them to you OR they’ll stamp and mail your cards FOR YOU (for a small fee)!  How cool is THAT?

here’s my sample that I prepared to show you.  It’s not the ones I’ve ordered, mainly because I didn’t have the right photos on this computer LOLhttp://www.dawniemom.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

Shutterfly is providing me with my own order of holiday cards in consideration for this review. All opinions are mine.

My kids race each other to see who gets to accept the package that either UPS or FedEX is bringing to our door.  It’s so funny, because sometimes – they stand by so excited by what might be in the box and it turns out to be something pretty boring by kid’s standards, like a loaf of bread, and sometimes it’s something fun and exciting!

Friday, UPS came while we were eating dinner.  The box had packing tape sealing it closed imprinted with “THE NEW TOY” on it – so obviously, I couldn’t play it off as “oh, it’s a loaf of bread” – they KNEW it was a toy. LOL

So I opened the box and freed one of it’s captors – while explaining to them why I had chosen this particular toy to review.

BRAIN NOODLES!

LOL  What a crazy name!  Brain Noodles are essentially pipe cleaners on steroids. LOL  They’re so much better, though.  Brain Noodles are soft and furry. They don’t have sharp ends, so there’s no pin cushion fingertips to contend with.  They’re great fun for my pretty wide age range of 3-14.  All three kids got into the action, creating bats, spiders, flowers, monsters, and even the Olympic rings!  I looped a bunch of them together to make a giant necklace.  We made hearts.   We spent hours coming up with different things we could do with them.  It was a ton of fun!

Brain Noodles help stoke that creativity in you and the child(ren) in your life.

Each package comes with 26 Brain Noodles and there’s 2 sizes (27 inches and 13 inches) and LOTS of fun colors.  They’re just… FUN.  I selected them primarily because I like to provide my kids with things that they can play with that encourage creativity and Brain Noodles are perfect.

How exciting! My post has been chosen as a

I received a package of Brain Noodles to review.  All opinions are mine.

Congratulations to Jessica, a GFC follower!  She’s won a pair of (un)diamond earrings from diamondearrings.org.

As most women I know would admit, the idea of having a pair of diamond earrings in her jewelry box is just special.  Diamond earrings are the perfect accompaniment to just about ay outfit, any event.  Of course, not nearly enough of us actually HAVE a pair of diamond earrings in that jewelry box.  We’re content to wear our birthstones or something cute and dangly, or whatever.  But DIAMONDS?  Not here, not for me. I wouldn’t buy diamond earrings for myself nor could I afford them as a gift.

UNTIL!  I was contacted by DiamondEarrings.org!  They offered to let me “review” a pair of their earrings, so of course, I jumped at it.  Sure, I knew they weren’t real diamonds, but I was curious, if nothing else.

They arrived in a cute little heart-shaped box.  The cubic zirconia stones sparkled and danced in the light.  The sterling silver setting was beautiful – the earrings themselves just beautiful.  I put them in right away, and went to show my husband my “diamond” earrings.  He immediately started to panic, thinking I’d actually bought real diamond earrings! LOL

My 7 yr old daughter, who had just come from the dentist, where they’d REMOVED HER EARRING that she’d had in her ear since it was pierced almost 2 years ago (long side story) – saw the earrings and immediately wanted them for herself.  Unfortunately for her, the other ear had closed up about 4 months after she’d had them pierced, sooooo she couldn’t have them.  But it got me thinking!  What better way to get a young person ready for the responsibility of “good” earrings than with some that LOOK like they’re good earrings, but are much more affordable than the real deal?!  Just buy diamond earrings from DiamondEarrings.org would be a perfect solution.  They look real.  They feel real.  But they don’t break the bank!  How exciting would it be to present someone special with something so beautiful!

When my daughter is ready to have that other ear re-pierced, that will be her reward.  Beautiful “diamond” earrings for her to love and admire (and probably show off!).

Now, here’s the fun part.  I have a pair to give away!

If you’d like to win, leave a comment.  Tell me what your favorite earrings are and where you got them.

I received a pair of earrings to review – all opinions are mine.

I’m kind of sad today. Sad because I just finished the last bowl of Kellogg’s FiberPlus™ Antioxidants Cereals in Berry Yogurt Crunch.

Back in “the day”, fiber cereals were for old people.  Fiber cereals tasted like hay. Fiber cereals certainly weren’t sought after by people under… 50.

Now, though, it’s different.  Kellogg’s new FiberPlus Antioxidants cereals have helped change that.

Image converted using ifftoany I’ll admit I haven’t been a big fiber seeker. But I agreed to take a look at the new cereals and ummm. Wow.  Seriously!  My favorite is, as I mentioned, the Berry Yogurt Crunch variety.  The flakes were great – they didn’t sog out in the milk.  The yogurt covered berries were delicious – probably why my KIDS wouldn’t leave the cereal alone.  I suppose my selfishness comes from the fact that there aren’t too many cereals I actually like.  I like the old standards I grew up on.  However, they’re not necessarily the most healthy of choices, so I don’t buy them for the 3 other cereal eaters in the family.

However, now that Kellogg’s FiberPlus™ Antioxidants Cereals has come along, I can now buy something *I* will covet hide like that I know my kids will love without caring that it’s a H E A L T H Y choice.
